From Digital to Canvas~Mural • back&forth •✨

Composition process of We Are The Endangered Species, the digital bit ✨

Digital Composition is always present throughout my creative practice, from start to finish. My ideas are constantly changing and evolving and overflowing so having a tool that gives me the chance to try them all on my piece without any consequences on the ’real’ artwork is perfect for me. So every time a new idea pops up in my mind, I can see straight away an aproximation of what it would look like.

During the painting process I also change the composition on the go, but mainly minor playful elements, that leave more room to interpretation, maintaining the big compositive decisions.

I always paint how I feel, and I am trying to be more honest as time goes by. We are taught to embrace/show only the good emotions, and is just when we embrace and share all our emotions that we can actually process them and let go. Also trying my best to make this platform a bit more real♡
•
However, what about climate anxiety? 👁What about processing an emotion that doesn’t end with you, but is correlated to everything that lives? Agh that is a tough one.. Best thing to do is to focus on the things that I (you, us) can do about it, not the ones that scape our control.
For me, it is painting. 🍉
Art is a cathalyzer of change, wth each song, performance, illustration, painting, we get a clearer idea of how our reality feels like, from different points of view, from different universes. When focusing our art and culture on a particular issue like our unstable climate and its causes and solutions, much more could be understood, communicated, processed to then act upon it. That’s my dream, and will keep working on that ;)))

In dreams there is a particular sense of time, it is not lineal but cyclical. It is not future past or present (love this song) but a continuum of moments, of presents, that get somehow entangled into one big russian doll of storylines. And to resolve one story you may need to wait until the third russian doll shows up and then, there you go.
I reckon it is quite similar with life, right? You rarely find closure if you stay in the same scenery/mindset/environment. 👁️🫧

From the dream where our marvelous feast came to life and we were dancing to the marvels of tiny fruity universes trapped in soap bubbles. When I woke up from that dream, after visualizing the soap bibbles and everything they contained (tiny people in tiny universes included) I decided I needed to be able to paint it. And I commited myself to learn technique to someday be able to paint that beaut. 🤸🏽‍♂️✨

Dreamscapes fruity volume 🥝

Some of my dreams are so vivid they stay in my mind as forever memories, they are a huge part of the mistery of life, imagination, weird night travels, where do they come from? Why we time travel to other universes and spend years in there and then it was actually just some hours at night? It fascinates me.

I remember this dream as vividly as if I was there, it was a very complex one, but long story short, the landscape was green fields, sunny day, light breeze, and some roman scultpures planted here and there, on the grass. Me and a bunch of creatures were enjoying ourselves with a marvelous feast. The cooking pot was the size of a house, and all of a sudden the vegetables and fruits came to life and unveil the universes they came from, trapped in tiny soap bubbles. It was a lot, as most of my dreams are 😂 but well, who am I to judge, let them weird dreamscapes come and let’s have a good ride ;))

So excited about continuing my art journey back in my city, Barcelona♢♡ I have been living abroad since 2015 and coming back home now feels like travelling. I was not sure if I would stay or go somewhere else, until I found my place for painting.
